If you want to save your iPhone messages to your computer to save space, AnyTrans is the app you need.

Your iPhone not only takes beautiful photos and plays music and videos, but it also keeps you connected to your friends and family through phone calls and messages. If you want to save these Messages separately, we can show you how to save them to your computer with just one click.

Why Save Your iPhone Messages?

There are many reasons you might want to save iPhone Messages or view specific messages from certain contacts. You might want to have a separate backup on your computer just to play it safe, or maybe you want to free up storage space on your phone.

The iPhone Messages app saves all file types associated with Messages, including text conversations with your contacts, links, photos, and videos. What about the sentimental photos in your Messages conversations? You can save those too.

Ultimately, people often do not want to delete years' worth of important messages, but also need to free up space on their devices for other things. That's where AnyTrans can help.

Backing up iPhone Messages to Your Computer

If you log in to Messages on your Mac using the same Apple ID that you use for your iPhone, your Messages will sync up between devices. You can back up your iPhone to your computer using iTunes, or to iCloud as long as your iPhone is plugged in and connected to Wi-Fi.

However, what if you want to view your Messages in your backup file, or download attachments from them? You’ll need a third-party app such as iMobie AnyTrans. With AnyTrans, you can save multiple file formats and choose which format to save your Messages in, including PDF, .txt, or HTML.

How to Save iPhone Messages With AnyTrans

Rather than using iTunes to transfer your iPhone messages, you can use AnyTrans. This is also useful if you need to transfer iPhone messages to a new device or if you want to print your messages.

Here’s how to save iPhone Messages with AnyTrans:

  1. Download and install AnyTrans. Connect your iPhone to your computer via USB.

Connect your iPhone, iPad, or iPod
  2. In the first window, click Device Manager.
  3. If this is your first time connecting your iPhone to your computer, you might get a prompt to trust the computer. Press Trust.
  4. On the next screen, you’ll see an icon of your iPhone on the left and various media icons on the right. Click Messages.
