程序员996现象在2016年就引起了官媒报道，但时隔4年，话题热度不减，其中第一本介绍程序员996现象的技术图书《SOD框架“企业级”应用数据架构实战》最近刚刚上市，作者结合书中内容，写一篇文章《程序员肺被切掉一块还得去加班... 再谈“工作996，生病ICU”》介绍了最近刚刚发生的北京一个程序员因为长期加班得了气胸肺被切掉一块，还被领导通知去加班的事情。该文章在博客园一度成为推荐头条和最多评论文章，参与跟帖接近100条。有网友将这篇文章转载到网易（文章链接），再度引发网友大讨论，参与跟帖人数一天超过2000人，“奋斗逼”成为热词。
