Caring for our health? Let us reconsider

Two hands around a red heart

Health is an essential parameter for well-being. Without it, all the riches of the world are meaningless and have absolutely no value. In the meanwhile, modern people are trained to care for their health to an extreme degree often neglecting other aspects of their lives such as creativity, or even altruism.

If there is one thing I learned from the recent pandemic is that health is a huge business. Caring about it means that we are willing to spend large amounts of money to secure it and the best way to turn ourselves into big spenders is to be afraid that we will lose this wonderful gift that has been given to us the moment we were born, the ability to heal ourselves.

The potential of the human body and its mechanisms
The human body has a variety of mechanisms to protect itself and the immune system is not the only one responsible for our good health. Every organ cooperates with the rest of the body in a surprising attempt to keep us alive. Our bodies carry wisdom in their genes that have been transferred through thousands of generations.

Our biology produces science without us even realizing it. Does that mean we do not need doctors? Doctors make remarkable efforts to help humanity thrive and can do miracles when we are in real danger but when it comes to prevention our bodies seem to do it just fine on their own.

How we perceive the health issues
So, what is the idea about our approach to health and what do people all over the world tend to do? People at this moment do not consider themselves responsible for their health. They think that health is a matter of fate. They think that some people are lucky and do not face health problems while others are not so much.

Sometimes they blame bad nutrition or lack of exercise but most of the time it is more convenient to put the blame on genes. Their answer to that mindset is that every time a disease knocks on their door they pay a visit to the doctor and take the pills they prescribe for them.

Why do we make this choice after all?
This is a passive and convenient approach that reveals a tendency for laziness. While we call ourselves responsible and care enough to go to a doctor, we do not seem to be educated enough about the significance of prevention and the responsibility that comes with it. A proper diet and a healthy lifestyle have saved thousands of lives around the globe and there is evident proof for that. This is why doctors advise us to quit smoking or start jocking or whatever will help the overall condition of our body.

However, how many people have you seen dedicating some effort to do all that? Taking a pill is much easier and it saves us a lot of time. It is up to us to see how we will use our time and energy wisely to help ourselves. Passiveness is not an answer to anything and health is one of the things that need our immediate attention.

Listening to our gut and claim what we deserve
Finally, apart from our doctors’ advice, we can take further action to protect ourselves. Scientifical research is available on the internet right now and almost everyone has access to it. If you think about it, there are places that still do not have access to clean water but the information is something we can all reach. There is no excuse for staying uneducated and people can explore the potential that comes not only from personal development but also from a healthy lifestyle.

Good health comes like a wind of fresh air that allows creativity to be born and people to live instead of just existing. If so much awareness has been raised about health and all kinds of diseases that trouble the modern world this is to remind us that we do not only care to live longer but also to live a better life where we will be able to create and also give, give to ourselves and to the world that surrounds us like the bright light of an energy ball finding its destination on earth.
