据外媒报道，苹果正计划于2022年春季发布第五代iPad Air，搭载最新的A15仿生芯片，并支持5G，这也是iPad Air首次支持5G网络。
除此之外，新一代iPad Air还将采用10.9英寸的窄边框屏幕、一个Touch ID电源按钮（侧边指纹解锁）和一个USB-C接口。
也就是说，新款iPad Air并不支持Face ID人脸识别解锁。
影像方面，新款iPad Air配备了支持Center Stage的12MP前置镜头，新增了4-LED的原彩闪光灯，后置则依然是1200万像素单摄。
存储空间也是市场和用户比较关注的重点。随着iPhone手机、iPad Pro等设备的起步容量都从64GB升级到了128GB，不出意外的话，iPad Air也有望跟上。
从配置和外观来看，新款iPad Air此次更新属于常规升级，但兼具了iPad Pro、iPad mini的不少元素，非常适合需要大屏、追求日常办公娱乐的用户。
