Almost every review I read on the Apple6 says that the blood ox reading is temperamental and it’s hard to get right, I didn’t find that to be whatsoever . I’ve done it five times in a row keeping my arm completely still on the arm of the chair and it worked every time… What’s your experience?

Works nearly every time for me too. Only time it didn't work was when I was playing around with it and didn't have my wrist in the suggested position.

I got 2 out of 5 so far. the bad thing is that I don't know if my reading is bad or not ... it tells me I got 88 % but no recommendation or anything

It can't give you a recommendation because it's not a medical device. That said, 88 is pretty low. Normal readings are between 95-100. 88 would be considered the low end of normal for someone with COPD, if you continually get readings that low you should probably consult a doctor.

It works 40% of the time for me and is very frustrating. It feels like a gimmick.

I just did it again and now I got a 95 % so yeah, I am not surprised its not recommended as a medical device. Either way, any idea on how to get it "higher". Like what does one have to change in life to get it to improve

As a person who has COPD, I’ve become an expert on this. The bottom line is if you’re above 95-all is good. between 90 and 95% you’re starting to have a problem, anything less than 90 you got to see a pulmonologist/doctor. You’re not getting enough oxygen to your tissues. It can lead to huge problems down the road, also if you’re waking up with a headache or fatigued, that’s another symptom of what they call oxygen starvation or hypoxia.

Take a few deep breath’s before you run the test, and you’ll get a higher score, a few deep breath’s are acceptable according to my pulmonologist. Because it shows you still have the ability to process oxygen.

I can't even load the app. It tells me to open the watch app, but Blood O2 isn't listed anywhere. Thinking the latest dev beta breaks it?

Correct. Not included at all. I'm in the same boat.

works fine for me .... it didn’t initially for my wife but once she made her band a little more snug it was fine.

I turned it off. It’s too inconsistent for me to rely on it. One example, it gave me a reading of 88% when my fingertip pulse oximeter read 97% at the exact same time.

My firsts reading was 93%. Second 98%. Tried again got unsuccessful reading message. Tried a 4th time and got 96%. I don’t own anything I could compare it to so can’t say how accurate it is.

These things are better for showing a trend I think. So if you get say 93-96 most of the time you could start to worry if that suddenly goes down. I just tested mine and the finger tester I had read 97 and my watch says 95.

The vo2 (when it works) is totally messed up, and my polar heart rate chest monitor always read the same as my AW5 for BPM, while my AW6 reads two higher.
Just set up my new watch and tried the Blood Oxygen app for the first just now, and got a reading of 97%.

Here's an article from The Verge on the accuracy of wrist-based blood oxygen measurements.

Are you running iOS 14.2 beta? It’s not currently available in this release, hopefully in the next release

As long as my wrist is still I get a reading every time. It’s definitely about trends.

Have you tried the blood oxygen sensor overnight during sleep? If so, did it work well?

Once I figured out that my arm had to be "level", like resting on the arm of a chair, or table, it's working fine. Also, at night, and throughout the day, I get random readings that appear to be taken at some time during each hour. Nice, better than the "full time" of Garmin, and WAY better than the Samsung offering of "On demand only." I'm quite pleased with this implementation.

Same here. Wonder if it's because my phone is on 14.2 but my watch is on 7.0 and not the 7.1 beta.

I've never had it fail but I've done it resting my arm as I'm supposed to. Readings 96-100%. Many of the initial reviews people didn't bother to follow instructions and held there arm up which is still not still enough many times. I'm also impressed that it gets my numbers while sleeping and during the day, at least 20+ readings in a day and all without any outlier readings either so the watch must be looking for times when your arm is in the right position and still.

I'm on 14.2 and 7.1 betas. The app is there, but tapping on it does nothing. App won't load.

I’m normally 97-98% but if I do the Breathe app on the watch for 4 minutes I get up to 100% pretty often. I’m sure it doesn’t mean much other than 97% is normal.
