Working at home is ...safer.

One of the biggest advantages I have experienced by working at home is the freedom to actually explore other avenues of programming.

Getting stuck in one area of development can be destructive on your attitude and career. Plugging in to different languages and frameworks is fun and kicks in the creative ideas.

For instance, game dev is a lot of fun for me, especially the more simplistic Phaser3 engine for HTML5/JS games. Being able to build a game in one month is boosting for the ego.

Platformer games have generally gone by the way of horse buggies...but wait! Metroid Dread just popped out on the Switch and is booming!
