Alder Lake looks very efficient in normal MT workloads (140-165W), those super high 230W+ figures are seemingly AVX stuff or outlier workloads.

I do think Intel has an overall efficiency advantage in every-day use-cases due to AMD's super crappy idle and 1C package power overhead. The narrative out there seems to be wrong.

So what's the practical advantage of avx512 in the end? Lots of die space, lots of power consumption, lots of bad press due to this. How much real software (client or data center) does use avx512?
