Microsoft Is Rolling Out Windows 11 to More PCs, but Is Yours One of Them?

Microsoft has released the Windows 11 update to more PCs, but is yours ready for the update?

As promised, Microsoft has continued to roll out the Windows 11 update to more and more Windows 10 computers. However, while Microsoft initially gave everyone a scare with its airtight compatibility requirements for running the new operating system, things now seem rather different on the ground for Windows users.

So, is your PC ready for Windows 11? Let's find out.

Windows 11 Is Rolling Out to More PCs

With the help of its machine learning models, Microsoft has continued to roll out the new Windows 11 to older machines, as stated on the official Microsoft blog.

If you are using a Windows 10 computer, you can check your computer’s update eligibility via the PC Health Check app. You used to have to download this app manually, but it has since been bundled in with a recent Windows update. As such, ensure your PC has all of its updates, then search for "PC Health Check" in your Start menu to find the tool.

The PC Health Check app lets you know if there are any performance issues with your PC; however, it also has a feature that tells you if your PC is compatible with the new Windows 11. As such, all you need to do is boot up the app and tell it to do a Windows 11 compatibility check to see if your PC is up to scratch.

Alternatively, you can compare your PC to Windows 11's official system requirements. Here’s a complete rundown of what you need to get started:

CPU: 1 GHz or faster, with two or more cores compatible with a 64-bit processor

Storage: 64 GB or more.

RAM: 4 GB

TPM: Trusted Platform Module version 2.0

Graphics Card: Compatible with DirectX 12 or later with WDDM 2.0 driver

Display: High definition (720p).

These are the minimum requirements that are necessary for running your Windows 11 smoothly. There are additional features in Windows 11 that will demand higher hardware requirements than this.

This includes things like 5G support, Auto HDR, Cortana, DirectX 12 Ultimate, Wi-Fi 6E, and more. If you want to use all of what Windows 11 has to offer, you need to meet these requirements, as listed by Microsoft on its blog.

Installing the New Windows 11

Windows 11 came out as a surprise for every tech enthusiast, with demanding specifications that left out the majority of Windows users. But if the past is any gauge for the future, we can safely assume the eligible user pool is yet to expand, with more Windows 10 users likely to jump to the Windows 11 OS in the coming months.
