#GraphCast: An Introduction to Neo4j

Angela Zimmerman, Blog Managing Editor Jul 09 < 1 min read

Welcome to this week’s #GraphCast – our series featuring what you might have missed in Neo4j media from the past fortnight.

Last time, we were treated to a video hand-selected by Kara Doriani O’Shee, our Content & Demand Gen Copywriter, that highlighted Johannes, one of Neo4j’s star engineers.
#GraphCast: An Introduction to Neo4j

I’m delighted to surface this engaging conversation between Neo4j Consulting Engineer Priya Jacob and Tom Geudens from our EMEA Field Team. At this year’s NODES conference, they presented a robust and upbeat introduction to Neo4j that serves as a great refresher for previous or existing users or fans. It also provides a down-and-dirty first look into the background of the graph database space and rise of Neo4j for those among us still getting acquainted.

They kick off with a trip back in time to revisit the work of Swiss mathematician Leonard Euler, who founded graph theory in 1735 when he solved the problem of the Seven Bridges of Konisburg, before crediting the “Swedish nerds” who founded Neo4j in the early 2000s.

Then Priya and Tom explore the various uses of graph databases and get into the nuts and bolts of the ecosystem, while sharing live examples and tools to get started.
