一名瑞典男子在 2011 年至2019 年期间 骗取了3500名受害者共计超过 1600 万美元的比特币，他因证券欺诈、电汇欺诈和洗钱被判 15 年有期徒刑。
47 岁的 Roger Nils-Jonas Karlsson 也被没收他用被盗资金购买的泰国度假村和 16263820 美元的赔偿金。
从 2011 年到 2019 年，当卡尔森在泰国被捕前，他以东方金属证券的名义开展了一项投资欺诈计划。卡尔森向受害者承诺他们将获得“巨额回报”，以比特币和其他在线支付方式支付，与黄金价格挂钩。而卡尔森扣留了这笔钱，并将其用于购买高档房产和赛马。
