6月6日，据军事博主”沙姆雄狮_EL“消息，此前有媒体援引叙利亚方面相关报道，叙利亚足协承认故意让国足失去主场。该博主表示，根据消息源显示，该消息存在翻译问题，曲解了原文的含义，叙利亚方面只是向亚足联解释为何不去中国比赛。对于国内媒体对于该消息的核实存在质疑。
