Gaming is playing an increased role in digital education
Video games have likely been the bane of many a parent's life during the pandemic, as the oppressive lack of any escape has driven kids to spend even more time on screens and in digital worlds. But for millions, gaming has also been a salvation. Schoolchildren barred from seeing their friends in lockdown have been able to connect over Fortnite and Minecraft, the games forming the backdrop to chattering and the only form of human contact we were allowed. Gaming companies reaped the benefit with the lockdown boom, with the UK sector raking in a record £7bn in 2020....
