压力会迅速消耗并吞噬理性，在高强度竞争的场景中，把速度降下来反而会提高总体的胜率。就像猎豹或老虎捕食猎物，由于很多草食动物非常善于奔跑，因此猎豹或老虎并没有很多次失败的机会，他们必须悄悄的接近猎物，静静等待机会，一旦开始搏杀，则务必得手，否则就有可能因为体力不支最终伤害到自己。

又比如在股票市场中，由于大量并不足够理智的人的存在，个股价格经常会陷入情绪性的新低或新高，聪明的人会选择降低交易频率并更加深刻的加以分析与判断，不被市场的情绪所裹挟，以优势的理性寻求更高的命中率和更小的失误率。
