The game is now set for release on PC and console in August

Bad news for King Bounty fans, as developer 1C Entertainment announced the sequel has been delayed by five months. Although King's Bounty II was shown off early this week at the Epic Games Showcase and LUDI Awards, the game will not be ready until August.

An official statement went live recently that reveals King's Bounty II is now set for release on August 24 for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. Originally, the game was scheduled for launch in March 2021, but the date has been revised to ensure the best experience for players when King's Bounty II comes out.

Apparently, the game is complete and playable, but it needs a lot of polishing and testing: “We are currently at a stage where the game is complete and playable, but we need more time to finish playtesting, fixing, polishing, and postponing launch will give us the precious months to balancing phase, much needed for such important project for us, with its ambitious, open world, its complex narrative, deep Turn-Based Tactical and RPG mechanics,“ said Denis Maltzev, King’s Bounty II producer.

The good news is King's Bounty II expands upon the original's tactical turn-based battles to offer players an even more immersive RPG experience. That means that every decision counts, whether leading an army into battle against the undead or building relations with local townsfolk.

In King's Bounty II, players take the role of one of three heroes, each a personality with their own background. More importantly, developer 1C Entertainment promises to offer players non-linear adventures in an open and vibrant fantasy world.

The game is split into two distinct phases, as players journey the realm from a third-person perspective, picking up quests, exploring the wilderness, and meeting new NPCs. However, when battles ensue, the perspective shifts to tactical, turn-based combat. If you fancy the sequel, don't forget to wishlist King's Bounty II on Steam.
