I just read this on IGN. Shame shame. Hope it doesn't go beyond this. Sucks for management for taking such a bad decision.

not US company, they get bombed

also funny how their stock got pumped by the media, overhyped game

journalists show their true face, look at the reviews before the game was released

I wasn't hyped by the trailers, I was hyped by their past releases and their attitude towards their playerbase.

I just can't beleive how miserable this game is.

The only things okay are the artworks and the main quest line.

I think you're over exaggerating here, miserable? Can't say I share your opinion at all.

I've enjoyed quite a bit of the side missions with the other characters in the game, and with maxed street cred even more of them open up.

Because of people like you companies got used to releasing unfinished products and the gaming market's quality drops down every year.

I don't mind graphical bugs, floating cars, a few glitches here and there but this game has far worse problems.

One big example wich affects everybody is the lack of AI and that won't get "patched" ever.

Wow, thanks for speaking for me like you know my gaming habits first hand.

The fact is that I hardly ever buy games on day 1 anymore. I've made a exception for this title.

Like I said I'm enjoying this fine, so I don't share your opinion.

This news is over a week old.

Every time a stock dips 10% in a day litigation revs up.

lol like most other games it will get patched and fixed up. witcher 3 wasnt much better on initial release. Other new games around have a multitude of issues out of the box to.

funny how ppl were begging them ot release it then they do then they throw ###### its full of bugs

currently they have looked to work their asses off right till xmas with 6 updates so far. not sure how many days these guys will get off over xmas but because they say major patches jan/feb cant imagine many days

I thought it was accepted that the state of the game on release was because of the investors? They - as well as a handful of the gaming community - were pressuring the developers to release the game when the developers were saying that they needed more time?

I guess it depends on how long CDPR told the investors it would take to make and release the game.

Investor is just mad his bit of stock went down. It's a double edged sword. Who was one pushing to release the game before it was ready on older consoles I wonder?

It happens when sharks smell blood.

Anyways and legally:

CDProjekct: "But we believe that the level will be as low as to let games not see them.”

How can they say that this statement is false?

By getting evidence that they knew it was higher.

What evidence could change what is effectively their relative statement? If investors didn’t set any kind of explicit expectations after hearing that, personally, I’d say that’s on them.

The same investors who pushed CDPR to release in this state in the first place?!

Good news. Shame on developers and the cult of CDPR. They're worse than the cult of Steam nowadays, fanboyism at its worst.

Steam fanboyism is a thing for sure but CDPR fanboyism? Nah, people who really liked the Witcher 3 are/were hyped for this.

Personally I've gotten my moneys worth at over 100 hrs so far with more yet to do. If you don't like it that's fine but if someone does that doesn't mean you're a fanboy automatically. Let's not get carried away here.

You do realize it was the investors who pushed for early release, right? First they push, then 13m sales is not enough so they sue

I am against suing for BS like this. the games bugs will be worked out eventually. it's not like they just released the game super buggy and then you never hear from them again as they are clearly working to get the game up to spec even though it might take em a few months or so before the game starts to get up to standard. but from what I heard it seems to be mainly the consoles where it's most flawed.

but them investing in a game is a risk and they assume this risk otherwise simply don't put the money forward in the first place etc. but now they looking to extract $ by suing. they are just greedy etc.

The so called "investor" has a really weak case, I really think he and his lawyers are not going to get much out of it.

Game gets overhyped to infinium -> releases with mixed reception and no chance to live up to hype -> player base and investors get pi**ed and feel like they’ve been duped.
Have we heard this story before?

Everything is overhyped. That's the problem. It also leaves no possible excitement or joy because your expectations are already so overblown.

Pretty much agreed. but... I think that's typically the younger crowd that inevitably buys into that stuff. once you get a bit older you tend not to buy into super high hype and have more realistic expectations given your experience over the years with movies/games etc and can likely gauge things a bit more realistically (sure, even with experience every once in a while ill still overestimate something, but I find myself usually more underestimating a movie for example than overestimating it because after a while once you have seen plenty of movies there are only a small amount that really stand out and most movies float roughly around average etc). but someone who's a bit younger, with less experience with movies/games in general, if they buy into hype even a fair amount it's basically setting them up for disappointment.

also, I think another thing probably happens to something so overhyped is that people end up taking things to the other end of the extreme. like for example... Game A ends up getting high hype, it falls short of that hype, but it's still a better than average game, but some people will end up acting like it's crap (or thereabouts) because they bought into the hype that the game almost certainly can't live up to. but once they get over that initial disappointment from failure to live up to their overly high expectations of the game, they might like it more than they initially thought etc.

because personally I never over-dis a game/movie just because it's overrated etc as I always give my honest opinion of it. sure, I have said I think Cyberpunk is nearly guaranteed to be overrated in my mind, but from my best guess (as I have not played it), it's probably still better than most games out there. but then again, there are only a small amount of games of any real worth.

I love the game.

Still playing and having no game breaking issues.

(slightly offtopic, but CP news quickly overtake each other, so forgive me this)

Removing the AVX support from the game entirely, just because some old or lowend CPU does not support it, and the devs were not able to detect the instructionset at runtime, sounds too stupid to me. Use of AVX would be a nobrainer in such a graphics-intensive game. Otherwise whats the whole point of having such an instructionset in most of the modern CPUs anyway?

At the end......I decided to get a refund and wait until it is patched properly for Next Gen systems.

At the end, it is playable on a Series X, but it did suffer some Frame Rate issues every now and then, and looking how beautiful it looks on a Next Gen PC, I thought I was better off waiting until it is ready for my console to continue, otherwise I was not enjoying it as best as I could.

Went the refund route as knowing myself, if I have the game there I'll just continue playing, but I think waiting a few months to allow me to play the best possible version for my hardware is best, so I'll just rebuy when that's ready.
