Any idea on a UK equivalent deal?

No point for the UK, Microsoft 365 is £79.99 GBP for renewal directly. You can easily buy a 1 year licence for £39 from Argos, Currys or Amazon. I bought several licences on Black Friday, type in key into MS web site and you extend the licence (I think there's a limit of 5 years).

Example: https://www.argos.co.uk/product/8837505 (Although McAfee can go straight into the bin, although the bin might slow down and still get infections) ;)

This is still expensive compared to third party distributors.

Those third-party distributors are typically gray market.

If ya want illegal keys, I'll sell ya 500,000 and a bridge for $10. /s

Yes, theft is cheaper.

not a lot of users have big enough families to utilize those 'up to' 6 users. I wish they offered multi-year subscriptions: same price as family, but for 1 person up to 6 years or something.

But do they need to be in the same building?
I have family that I could go into with for office 365 if we wanted to, but they don't live here, they are brothers, sister-in law and that type of thing.

nah, they don't even need to be in the same country. you add the the o365 license to your account, and you'll be eligible to add up to 5 more peoples(family, friends, etc.) emails -they can use this login to install & login to o365 on their PC.

Once an O365 is installed on a PC, it can be shared with anyone using that PC(incl. other users). Hence a single license is great for me to keep installed on the family desktop for the occasional usage. For personal laptops/use, basic apps like WPS office/libreoffice, or the web apps are fine for me.

There you go then. So it is good value if you do that and split the cost.
I use Libre office myself, I use local storage, so i have no use for office 365.

i would have thought it would be Microsoft giving out the Amazon gift card, strange that Amazon is doing the deal and not MS.

Amazon's the retailer, they make quite a lot of profit of each license sold through them. I bet they tied up with MS for this promo.

i had a feeling that would be the case.
