Tech giant DJI has officially introduced in the US market its portable charger series that can power common household devices and provide superfast charging for DJI drone batteries.

Power 1000 and Power 500 build on DJI’s long history in battery research and development — be it consumer drones, professional and enterprise offerings, or agricultural aircraft.

As Christina Zhang, senior director of corporate strategy at DJI, points out, “Batteries are paramount to the user experience with battery life and charging efficiency, central to user needs. We hope that the DJI Power series can further improve the outdoor experience by eliminating power consumption anxiety and, in the home, by being on hand as a home backup to tackle power outage issues.”

With an inaugural discount price tag of $699, the DJI Power 1000 has a battery capacity of 1024Wh and weighs 13kg. The smaller, more compact 512Wh DJI Power 500 costs $379 if purchased right now from the DJI store and weighs 7.3kg. Both units can be fully charged in just 70 minutes, but they provide maximum power outputs of 2200W and 1000W respectively. 

For drone users, the company is selling separate charging cables that can be used with select DJI drone batteries, including Mavic 3 and Air 3. The SDC super-fast charge function of DJI Power can get your drone up in the air within approximately 30 minutes (from 10% to 95%).

A great deal of thought has gone into the safety of the portable chargers, right from the body structure and cell chemistry to the system software. The DJI Power series has passed 26 product test certifications from the Swiss third-party testing authority, SGS. Moreover, the Intelligent Battery Management System is built up with LFP cells with up to 3,000 cycles, a 10-year lifespan, temperature sensors, fuses, and flame-retardant, high-strength material.

When purchased directly from DJI, you will get a three-year warranty, which can be extended by an additional two years after registration.
