AirPods Pro 曾经差点被命名为 AirPods Extreme
在苹果于 2019 年 10 月发布 AirPods Pro 之前的几个月里，该公司曾考虑将这款无线耳机更名为 AirPods Extreme。据我们了解，苹果公司领导团队中至少有一位成员曾提出过 AirPods Extreme 这一名称，但在许多员工反对后，公司最终决定使用 AirPods Pro 这一品牌。
苹果公司过去曾为其已停产的 AirPort Extreme 路由器和 Mac 无线网卡使用过"Extreme"品牌，该产品于 2003 年首次发布。
AirPods Pro 这个名字更符合苹果多个产品线的品牌定位。除 AirPods 外，苹果还提供普通版和 Pro 版的 iPhone、iPad 和 Mac，未来还可能推出普通版的 Apple Vision Pro 耳机。不过，苹果多年来也为高端产品使用过一些其他后缀，比如 AirPods Max 和 Apple Watch Ultra。
2022 年 9 月，苹果公司发布了第二代 AirPods Pro，一年后又更新了这款耳机，增加了 USB-C 充电盒和其他一些功能。据传，第三代 AirPods Pro 将于 2025 年发布。
