Since launching in October 2022, the Arm Developer Program has grown from strength-to-strength. The program, which brings together developers from across the globe who are all part of Arm’s industry-leading software ecosystem, now has 9,300 members and over 120 Arm Ambassadors. As part of this tremendous growth, we are making 14 of these ambassadors “Distinguished Arm Ambassadors”.

This in recognition of the commitment and dedication that these new Distinguished Ambassadors have made to advancing awareness of Arm’s technology. Alongside playing influential roles in the Arm Developer Program, the Distinguished Arm Ambassadors are active across a variety of different software communities worldwide. Many write their own blogs and articles, attend industry events and developer meetups, host their own workshops and have even appeared on Arm’s Innovation Coffee.

In this blog, we provide more details about these Distinguished Arm Ambassadors, including their experience and areas of expertise.

Aaron Williams

Aaron has extensive experience in IoT and connected vehicles, with multiple patents in these spaces. He currently runs the Ampere ARM64 Server Community and is part of the Ampere Developer Relations team. Aaron is passionate about bringing new technologies to developers, non-technical people, and the next generation via hacking and hands-on training. He has taught thousands of students (from high school age to mature students), runs events on five continents, and built multiple global communities.

Ajeet Singh Raina

Ajeet Singh Raina is a renowned Docker Captain and Docker Community Leader who leads the Bangalore Community with around 14,000+ meetup members. Ajeet is currently working as a Developer Relations Manager at Docker where he has gained recognition for his expertise in Docker, Kubernetes and Cloud-native technologies. In 2019, Ajeet was the winner of “The Tips of Captain’s Hat Award” during Dockercon 2019. Outside of work, he runs his own DevOps community of around 9,000 plus Slack members and has a personal blogging site with over 600 blogs that attract millions of visitors every year.

Bill Neifert

Bill is the Senior Vice President in charge of partnerships at Corellium, which equips developers with the tools they need to advance the next generation of smart devices powered by Arm processors. Prior to joining Corellium, he was part of the Development Solutions Group at Arm where he managed the group’s marketing team. Bill joined Arm via the company’s acquisition of Carbon Design Systems where he was the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and co-founder. 

Darragh Grealish

Darragh is Co-Founder and Engineer at 56K.Cloud where he focuses on enabling DevOps in small and large organizations to adopt containers in both software development and operations. Prior to 56K.Cloud, Darragh has over a decade’s experience in IP networks and System Engineering, working for Akamai, Swisscom, Siemens, and other technology companies. His original background was in embedded system engineering, but feels most at home when enabling Cloud technologies to interface with embedded IoT devices.

David Bernardino Martins Sena

David is a graphics software engineer by trade. For the past ten years, he has been working on delivering cutting-edge rendering solutions for mobile platforms. Throughout his career, David has worked as both a game developer and R&D graphics engineer, developing creative cross-discipline solutions that focus on the collaborative boundary between engineering and art.

David J. Groom

David bought his first Arduino in 2007 as part of a Roomba hacking project. Since then, he has been obsessed with writing code that you can touch. David fell in love with the original Pebble smartwatch, and even more so with its successor. This allowed him to combine his beloved wearable with his passion for hardware hacking via its smart strap functionality. Through this work, David wrote a love letter to the Pebble community, which blossomed into Rebble – the service that keeps Pebbles ticking today. When he is not hacking on wearables, David can probably be found building a companion bot, experimenting with machine learning (ML), growing his ever-increasing collection of developer boards, or hacking on DOS-based palmtops from the 90s.

Dominica Abena Oforiwaa Amanfo

Dominica is an AI and ML engineer at 4th-ir, which develops state-of-the-art products that make AI accessible for everyone. She supports Arm’s (E3)NGAGE and Embedded Learning Challenge (ELC) initiatives on the African Continent and is an active member of the IEEE community. Dominica is currently studying for a Masters (Msc) in Applied information and Data Science at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts (Hochschule Luzern).

Marc Pous

Marc is a Developer Advocate at balena.io, with more than 15 years’ experience in IoT. He has created a variety of IoT communities, including IoT Barcelona and Munich, IoT Stars, IoT Coffee Talk and more. Marc also started his own company building an IoT platform that connects hundreds of thousands of devices and has worked on various Smart City projects.

Nicabed Gathaba Kihonge

Nicabed is an AI and quantum computing engineer, with a background in Electrical and Electronics. His main area of research is in AI, Quantum Computing, and IoT, and how these fields will impact the future. Additionally, Nicabed is a co-founder of FITI Telematics, an IoT and AI startup based in Nairobi, Kenya.

Dr. Noura Baccar

Dr. Noura is an Associate Professor and Director of the Computer Systems Engineering department in the Mediterranean Institute of Technology (MedTech), South Mediterranean University (SMU), Tunisia. She holds a Ph.D. in Communication Systems from the National Engineering School of Tunis (ENIT), Tunisia.

Peter Ing

Peter has a passion for technology and teaching others, particularly those involved in lifelong learning. He has a wide range of deep experience working across the technology stack from hardware to software. Peter’s most recent interests have focused on tinyML and how the technology can be used to enhance sustainability. Currently, he is building developer communities across Africa to help build skills in STEM and AI, while spreading the philosophy of 4IR and transition to 5IR. Peter is also an Edge Impulse Expert, Blues Wireless Amplifier and advisory board member of the South African AI Association.

Dr. Sanjeev Sarpal

Dr. Sanjeev is an internationally respected AIoT visionary and expert in signals and systems who has successfully developed over 25 commercial products. This includes ten plus years’ experience developing algorithmic solutions with Arm Cortex-M processor technology. Dr. Sanjeev also advises top international blue-chip companies on their AIoT solutions and strategies for telemedicine, smart healthcare, smart grids and smart buildings.

Sergio R. Caprile

Sergio is an electronics engineer with 20 plus years’ expertise in technical content generation and product development. These are oriented towards hardware and firmware development, and digital communications. He is also experienced in bare metal and event-driven microcontroller development using C and several assembly languages.

Dr. Shriram K Vasudevan

Dr. Shriram has over 17 years of experience across industry and academia where he has been granted 13 patents to date. He holds a Doctorate in embedded systems, has authored and co-authored 45 books and published more than 150 research articles. Dr. Shriram is also an Intel oneAPI certified Instructor, Google Cloud Ambassador, Streamlit Education Ambassador, AWS Ambassador, Former ACM Distinguished Speaker and NASSCOM Prime Ambassador, as well as being a Fellow IEI, Fellow IETE and Senior Member of IEEE.

Growing the Arm Developer Program

The ability of the Distinguished Arm Ambassadors to influence and reach a variety of software communities across the globe will help more developers understand how they can take full advantage of Arm’s technology. This is part of the Arm Developer Program’s mission to expand and activate key software communities and provide the resources and expertise to support developers worldwide who are developing on Arm, for Arm-based devices.
