Genesis Energy CFO James Spence Departs for Australia; New CFO Search Initiated

Genesis Energy’s Chief Financial Officer, James Spence, is set to leave the company on May 24, citing family reasons, as he prepares to embark on a new role in Australia.

Genesis Energy has initiated the recruitment process for a new CFO, aiming to ensure continuity and leadership in its financial operations. The company plans to provide updates to the market once the selection process is concluded. The new CFO will guide its financial strategies and support the implementation of the Gen35 strategy in New Zealand’s evolving energy landscape.

Spence, who relocated from Australia with his family to assume his current position at Genesis Energy in March 2022, has been instrumental in shaping the company’s financial strategy during his tenure.

Chief Executive Malcolm Johns expressed gratitude to Spence for his valuable contributions, acknowledging his role in developing the company’s Gen35 strategy, recently communicated to the market. Spence, in turn, highlighted the significance of Genesis Energy’s role in the New Zealand energy sector and the importance of the Gen35 strategy for both the company and the country.
