Israeli cybersecurity startup Seal Cybersecurity Solutions Inc. today said it has raised $7.4 million in seed funding to expand operations and development efforts.

Founded by former members of Israel’s Unit 8200 intelligence unit, Seal Security leverages large language models to create an automated pipeline that increases patching capacity. The company’s service provides access to security patches across five programming languages. It says it can remediate more than 95% of critical and high-severity vulnerabilities.

Designed to streamline the maintenance of security patches, the service eliminates vulnerability backlogs and associated technical debt. Using Seal Security, users can secure containers and base images with support for RPM-based distribution and cryptographic sign patches to ensure compliance with industry standards.

A centralized control panel allows customers to control the remediation process from one point with organization-wide fixes, eliminating the need for multiple repository updates. The service also offers continuous integration and continuous deployment support, allowing users to maintain their security policy’s posture at every stage of the pipeline without hindering deployment.

Other features include a cloud-native artifact server with access to patches, which allows remediation of both direct and transitive dependencies. Seal Security seamlessly integrates with various coding languages, patch management systems and open source platforms through application programming interfaces.

Vertex Ventures Israel Inc. led the seed round, with Crew Capital LLC, PayPal Alumni Fund LLC and Cyber Club London Ltd. also participating.

“Open-source software is at the core of almost every innovation, yet securing it requires tremendous amounts of manual labor and cross-department collaboration,” co-founder and Chief Executive Itamar Sher told CTech. “We tackle this problem head-on by enabling security teams to automate and scale their vulnerability remediation.”
