签证、白本护照与旅行

V 友们，龙年好！
几年前办理了护照，但一直没实际使用过。准备今年出境旅行一番。简单搜索了一下，才发现和了解到 "白本护照" 这个概念。
普通人有无必要适当刷一刷出入境记录，“养护”一下护照呢？有机会还是想去几个发达地区（西欧、北美、新西兰等）逛一逛的，有合适的出入境记录是不是更容易申请到对应签证？
感觉也没有必要刻意去刷，OP 有很多想去的地方，如果能顺便刷一下就更好啦。所以来请教不同签证政策和"白本护照"的关系。

- 免签出入境之后，还是白本护照吗？
- 落地签出入境之后，还是本本护照吗？
