Hello and Happy Holidays from the team here at Vue School! We wish you all a wonderful holiday season and that you can celebrate a joyful and productive year with friends and family.
As we reflect on our own year here at Vue School, we’d like to share our findings with you.
Vue School Courses
2023 was a milestone year! We proudly rolled out 9 groundbreaking courses, packed with 142 innovative lessons and totaling around 13 hours (or precisely 777 minutes) of cutting-edge learning.
This video content only includes what was released on the Vue School Platform. We were also busy releasing plenty of video lessons for Mastering Nuxt and Mastering Pinia as well!
2024 promises even more! We’ve beefed up our content team with an additional full-time instructor. With this added manpower, we aim to continue our regular weekly release cycle of new and exciting content but also spend ample time combing through existing courses to ensure they are up-to-date, accurate, and in the best state possible for our viewers.
Mastering Courses
Speaking of Mastering Nuxt, in 2022 we partnered with the powerhouse of Vue education, Michael Thiessen, to produce the updated course for the latest Nuxt version. In 2023, we finished releasing the course in its entirety. Plus, Michael has been an amazing supporter of students and has recently done a face-lift on many lessons.
Besides the partnership with Michael, we also partnered with Vue Core team member and Pinia creator Eduardo San Martin Morote, to produce Mastering Pinia. The project is chock full of valuable insights that can only come from the creator of a library. Plus the custom exercise platform developed by Eduardo makes for a nice interface to tackle hands-on coding challenges.
Articles
In 2023, we published 29 articles to our blog, on various topics ranging from plugin roundups, to tips for working with VS Code, to unit testing with Vitest and lots more in between. Find a topic that interests you and read up on it now!
In 2024, we aim to continue this trend of providing valuable free written content for the community.
Events
Courses and articles are great, but there’s nothing quite like the real-time experience. In 2023 we put on a wide variety of events most of which were 100% free to attendees.
Workshops
We hosted many virtual and in-person workshops teaching technologies like Vue + TypeScript, the Composition API, Pinia, and more. Tickets for just such workshops will be available for the coming year, so be sure to keep an eye out for the dates on our website.
Conferences
We also hosted 2 of our trademark conferences Nuxt Nation and Vue.js Nation. Combined we had over 40k+ people sign up to attend. Both conferences included valuable talks from the creators of the respective technologies (Evan You and Sébastien Chopin) as well as experts from within the community. You can watch all the talks from both conferences on our YouTube channel with these links:
Don’t forget to join Vue.js Nation 24-25th of January!
Vue.js Forge
Besides our traditional type conferences, we continued another year with 2 Vue.js Forge Events. This event is a conference unlike any other where attendees get hands-on with coding exercises and see domain experts code solutions live, all with the aim of building up a Vue.js application. In May we tackled an AI-powered social media post generator and in August a distributed Kickstarter clone with pledges made on the Kadena blockchain.
See a complete re-run of both events on our YouTube channel.
Vue.js Certification
Finally, September 2023 marked the launch of the official Vue.js Certification exam. It’s not just a certificate; it’s a testament to skill and dedication. Over 200 developers are already Vue.js certified and we can’t wait for you to give it a go.
Farewell 2023, Hello 2024!
As we say goodbye to an incredible year, we’re gearing up for an even more exhilarating 2024. Stay tuned, and let’s keep pushing the boundaries of Vue.js together!
