a simple 3D platformer

Today's game is Elli on the Switch. I don't even remember getting this one, but must have gotten it for a few bucks.

It's a pretty basic 3D platformer. The animations for cut scenes are not the best, but the gameplay is good. There's your platformer basics of platforms to jump to that disapear when you land on them, some puzzles, collectibles and secrets. You have life hearts but the little time I was playing there weren't enemies to hit you, just some fire traps. If you fall you'll just appear back at a checkpoint with what looks like all your health. So you can't reallly die, you just have to master some platforming. The store entry for it does say it's simple enough for small and big kids alike to be able to just pick it up and play.

My wife and I finished The Lord of the Rings extended versions last night. We had the movies on DVD before, I don't even know if those were extended, and pretty sure we were missing one, likely let a friend borrow and forgot about it. So for Christmas I got her the blurays. So that's a movie a night for three nights, 12 hours total. Then she has just as many discs worth of special features and documentaries included so she'll be going through all that at some point.
