If I drag the text area of the profile, it does not scroll. I can scroll around the name and number of followers by dragging.

They are definitely planning DMs for the future, but because Bluesky was designed as an open, public network, having a way to communicate privately is not all that simple to add on top. This means significant extra development work for a relatively small team ...

... (I think there are only something like 30 people in total working at Bluesky?). They are currently focusing on something called federation, but they will be moving on to developing encrypted DMs after that is finished.

You can sign in with multiple accounts and I’ve been doing it for at least 6 months. Just take your invites and use them with another email address of yours.

More than 1 profile? Thats- long time already- possible? Just install one with an invitation code..

Professional acc can verify by their -professional- emailadress. Look at the terms and regularities

this would in effect allow anyone to opt-out of moderation lists, breaking their entire purpose. in the future i imagine composable moderation would be able to label user lists and hide them if they're malicious, and until then you can report them to bluesky if they break the rules.

In any case you can't modify another user's list because you don't have write access to their account nor does Bluesky without having that other user to log in. That's why when you block someone that's following you, it doesn't cancel their follow.

Wouldn't that break all block lists pretty much? Like, all the person has to do is block the list creator, and they're out.

That's how it always was on Twitter, block someone and it deletes you from their lists. It was good.

Yeah I feel like a better way of handling it would be if Bluesky could get off its butt and actually just delete lists that clearly are being used as a harassment tool. Like you can report lists but i haven't seen any abusive ones actually get taken down yet =_=;

Literally that's what twitter (I'm sorry, X) does & tbh I hate lists as a feature in general but being able to get off them by blocking the swines who add me to "sick degenerate who should unalive themselves" is two birds one stone.

That repo is a bad attention grab. All of this is possible on other platforms. Rich text is not an "exploit" let alone a vulnerability, its a UX problem if handled badly but its handled with the usual warning pop ups.

i wouldn't call it an exploit, it's just the way that rich text works on bluesky

for example, you can add hyperlinks. but if the url doesn't match the text in the post, we show a warning with the url that you're trying to navigate to before we take you there

Are there any plans to add direct messages? If I want to give someone a way to contact me, I have to announce it to the whole world. It's very bad for privacy.

Why on earth would you use RSS when Atom is right there, compatible with basically all feed readers and tooling, and generally better as well as better specified?

At least do the goofy RSS/Atom hybrid thing, but really you don't even need the RSS at all...

Thanks for including RSS. One issue is that it uses the truncated version of URLs included in posts instead of the full URLs, so they aren't linkable/usable.

Ooh! I don't know how "important" this change is, but it's one that I very much enjoy. RSS could use a lot more love, it's a very useful tool.

Could you add ActivityPub compatibility next?

ATproto is a completely different protocol. Just go on Mastodon or Threads if you want to access ActivityPub content.
