These American Company Slogans (and Taglines) Everyone Knows

Just Do It

Effective slogans are a powerful tool for businesses. They should be catchy, brief, and memorable, capturing the essence of the brand in just a few words. A great slogan can attract and retain customers, making it an important aspect of marketing. Some slogans are so impactful that they become famous and are remembered for years to come.

To determine the most popular company slogans in America, CEOWORLD magazine analyzed 50 of the best slogans of all time from Quality Logo Products’ advertising blog. The latest annual revenue for each brand’s parent company was also taken into account from financial reports and company websites. The slogans are listed below in no particular order.

Many popular brands with iconic slogans sell affordable and disposable consumer products such as fast food, cereal, beer, and confections. However, this list also includes companies that offer services and durable goods such as Apple, De Beers, The New York Times, Airbnb, and Toyota, to name a few. These companies are known for having the best reputations in America.

Slogans are crafted to be short yet impactful enough to stick in the minds of potential customers. The longest slogan on the list is only nine words, while most of them are even shorter, ranging from about two to five words. For instance, Nike’s iconic slogan “Just Do It” is only three words long.

Slogans are designed to distinguish a brand and its products from others. For instance, Subway’s “Eat Fresh” sets it apart from fast-food chains by suggesting that its food is fresher and healthier. Walmart’s slogan “Save Money. Live Better.” focuses on its low prices as the main attraction.

Some slogans also highlight specific product features. For example, M&M’s “Melts in Your Mouth, Not in Your Hands” emphasizes that the candy was created to withstand high temperatures without melting. While some slogans have become synonymous with a brand, others have been retired as products and times have changed.

The most successful slogans have transformed companies into household names, but some of these companies are now foreign-owned. These are the highest-paying companies in the United States.
