Tiny Pockets
Unique stories for the little ones with the help of AI
Hello Product Hunters! I'm Marc, a frontend developer and a father of 2 children 👶👶
I created Tiny Pockets for them, a platform where we can turn their ideas into stories and carry them with us wherever we go.
After months of working on the website, I am very excited to finally launch it on Product Hunt!
When we travel, we usually bring along special mini-books for the journey. Each one of them is a short story, and our kids absolutely love it when we share them. It was then that I had the thought of translating this concept of mini-books into the digital realm, harnessing the power of AI to create as many mini-books as we could imagine.
This way, our children could feel like active participants in the book creation process, and we could narrate stories on any theme they desired. This is how the idea of Tiny Pockets was born, a little pocket brimming with dreams and stories to be shared.
Here are some of the key features of Tiny Pockets:
📚 Create unique and personalized stories for your children, and involve them in their creation. ❤️ If children are captivated by the story created, continue adding new chapters to it. 🌎 Available in 8 languages (English, German, Spanish, Catalan, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, and French), but you can craft the story description in the language of your choice. 🎁 Share your stories with your family members or your children's friends. ✍️ Export your stories to PDF to read them offline or print them. I'm here to answer any questions or receive any feedback and see you start creating exciting stories! 😊
Hey Marc,
Congratulations on the launch of Tiny Pockets! It's truly heartwarming to see how your role as a father and your passion for frontend development have come together to create a platform that fosters imagination and storytelling for your kids.
As a frontend developer, what were some of the technical challenges you faced while creating the platform? Also, I'm curious to know how you envision Tiny Pockets growing in the future. Are there any plans to expand its features or add more languages to cater to a broader audience?
@rickoliver thank you very much for your comments :)
As a frontend developer, I wanted to play around and learn how to work with OpenAI's APIs and create specific prompts. Creating a precise prompt to get the exact answer you're looking for is a challenging task. It's about trial and error. Also, as a frontend developer and designer, working on the backend part of the application was a challenge as it's not something I usually do in my day-to-day work.
Tiny Pockets is an MVP in its initial phase. For a second phase, I have ideas related to audio. I like the idea of being able to listen to stories in the car while traveling, without losing the main essence of the application. It's not an app for children, but for adults, so they can create stories with the help of children and have them be the ones who read and enjoy moments as a family or friends. Children love it when you're with them and tell them stories! 😍
I also have the idea, as you mentioned, of adding more languages to the website and in the story creation process.
Thanks again! 😊
