With the majority of this year’s data and analytics events occurring before June, anyone looking for data architect conferences in the coming months is going to have to look a bit harder. To ease your journey, we’ve compiled a list of some of the more interesting data strategy and architecture conferences that will pique your interest.  

1. CDAO Fall

October 4-5 | Boston

Hosted by Corinium Global Intelligence, this in-person 2 day conference is geared towards data and analytics leaders in North America. The first day incorporates industry tracks for Financial Services, Insurance, Retail/CPG, and Healthcare/Life Sciences. The next day’s main conference covers a variety of subjects related to Data Architecture, AI/ML and Digital Transformation. 

Targeted to CDAOs, CDOs, CAOs, CTOs, CIOs, CEOs, Data Scientists, Data Engineers and  Data & Analytics Leaders, the conference offers networking opportunities and vendor displays. The keynote looks at data-driven transformation, and other speakers discuss topics such as the data platform as a product, and how generative AI can empower data leaders.

 2. Gartner IT Infrastructure, Operations & Cloud Strategies Conference 

20-21 Nov 2023 | London, United Kingdom

Gartner conferences on various business and technical subjects span the globe throughout the year. Their analysts present strategic Gartner research, with their most up to date Magic Quadrants and Roadmaps. This year they are hosting four ‘IT Infrastructure, Operations & Cloud Strategies Conferences’ – each on a different continent. 

The conference attracts I&O executives, Infrastructure, IT Operations and Cloud leaders and a variety of related technical professionals. They aim to link technical and business professionals, and offer ample opportunity for networking. Tracks focus on areas such as innovation, leadership, operations, platforms, and observability, among others.

Here’s a few of the topics to be covered in London: the latest cloud computing technologies and trends, insights into how to adopt CX practices, and the latest tools and methodologies for agile and rapid development.

2A. Gartner Application Innovation & Business Solutions Summit | EMEA 

13-14 Sep 2023 | London, UK 

For those looking for an event with more of a business focus than a technical slant, this Gartner conference is dedicated to the major application challenges driven by the enterprise adoption of mobile, cloud, Web and social.

3. TDWI – ANALYTICS AND DATA MANAGEMENT

November 5–10 | Orlando, FL, USA 

TDWI Conferences are geared to business and technology professionals, offering over 40 half and full day courses that will impact business intelligence, data management, and data analytics initiatives. This conference focuses on providing in-depth education with bootcamps and learning tracks, with hands-on training in data lakes, multi-platform data architecture, self-service analytics, and data virtualization. 

The collocated Executive Summit for Data Management offers interactive group sessions about modern data environments for warehousing, business intelligence, analytics, governance, and operations for company leaders.

4. Techforge Hybrid Cloud Congress

October 26 | Virtual only

Techforge offers an opportunity for everyone to learn how to establish a strategic hybrid cloud – it’s online and it’s free. Cloud Specialists, CIOs, CTOs, CISOs, Infrastructure Architects, Consultants and other related professionals and executives are among those who can gain knowledge about optimizing hybrid cloud management, securing and governing the hybrid cloud, incorporating edge technologies (which is the topic of the keynote address), and other related topics. 

Although the event is virtual, time has been set for online networking opportunities. The sessions will be available on-demand for 30 days after the event.

5. Global Product Data Interoperability Summit (GPDIS) 

September 18-21 | Phoenix, AZ, USA

This year, the GPDIS focuses on the model based supply chain, looking at the consumption of interoperable data and how to provide interoperable data back to the purchaser. The range of process methods encompasses MBE, MBD, MBSE, CAM, Product Analysis, Support, the emerging technologies and more. 

This conference includes workshops on the first day, focusing on long term data retention, MBSE, and more. For the latter three days, it moves into a multi-track format that incorporates the Model Based domains in Engineering and Manufacturing, Digital Twin/Thread, and Emergent Technology, and Interoperable Standards. 

Two new tracks have been added this year. One is tailored to the PLM Executive (Product Lifecycle Management) regarding the role of Strategic Vision and Leadership at the Executive Levels. The second dives into data interoperability standards to enable global interoperability and availability of product information through the lifecycle of the product.

6. DataConnect Conference 

July 20-21 | Columbus, Ohio 

This conference was formerly known as the Women in Analytics Conference. The new name, DataConnect, reflects that although the speakers are exclusively women, the conference is open to all. Attendees have the opportunity to learn about all topics that relate to data, including data science, analytics, data management, and AI. 

The keynotes address data product leadership and data security and its impact on AI with a variety of sessions from data-driven organizations, generative AI, security and a tutorial about salary negotiation & self advocacy. 

Both in-person and virtual options are available, with networking mixers during the on-site event. A separate workshop track is also an option, or it can be combined with the conference.

7. ODSC – Open Data Science Conference  

October 31-November 3 | San Francisco, CA, USA 

This conference offers a number of tracks, from data engineering and big data through responsible AI, and data visualization and data analytics. Primarily geared to data scientists it offers both in-person and online options, with different content for each mode. Many of the sessions are hands-on, in a workshop or tutorial format.

8. Coalesce – The Analytics Engineering Conference

October 16-20 | San Diego and available virtually 

This event from dbt Labs covers ML and AI, testing, data anomaly detection, data engineering, and other related subjects. The in-person event of about 3,000 data practitioners also provides networking opportunities. Additional one-day events are held in London, Berlin and Sydney in October.
