Alibaba sees 33% surge in overseas demand for China-made products

Alibaba.com, the wholesale platform owned by Alibaba specializing in cross-border trade, has reported a surge in online demand for products made in China from overseas markets.
In the first half of the year, this demand experienced an increase of 33% compared to the previous year.
More than 90% of industries which cover products such as bathtubs, new energy vehicles (NEVs) and camping carts all witnessed their exports surge dramatically in the January-June period, the platform said.
Among the standout performers, the online demand for NEVs experienced an astounding five-fold increase, while the demand for golf carts skyrocketed by 257% in comparison to the same period last year.

Additionally, Chinese machinery equipment, apparel, consumer electronics, and sports and entertainment products have seen an increasing preference among overseas consumers.
Looking ahead, Alibaba.com foresees robust growth in the export of NEVs, tailored-made printers, laser cutting machines, and excavators during the second half of the year.
