SAC Validation Rules - to derive in the background

I have setup Validation Rules in the Model to derive Dimension_B based on the Dimension_A's Property value (where Dimension B value is maintained)
Now, when I use the Planning Input Forms and enter data against Dimension_A, I expect Dimension_B's value to be derived in the background based on the Validation Rules
It's not happening, it's saving data against # (Dimension_B) value.
However, if I include both Dimension_A & B in the Row axis and try to input against an incorrect combination, it prevents it from happening, which is nice. But I want the Validation rules to also derive the value, not just validate.
Is this possible ?
Or can I write an Advanced Formula and call it each time I input values in the input form? something like calling a DEFAULT.LGF logic in the good old BPC world ?
