Salary Range

Senior Software Engineer: $150k-$200k base salary, equity compensation

Staff Software Engineer: $190k-$230k base salary, equity compensation

The Role

We are hiring an experienced software engineer who can inform key architectural decisions and help Motion scale the next 2 orders of magnitude. This role may be frontend-focused, backend-focused, or full-stack. You will work on Motion’s innovative time management platform that helps users organize their schedule and companies efficiently coordinate their work. Areas that you may work on include making our web-app more performant and delightful to use, our project management platform UI, 3rd party integrations, and backend infrastructure.

You’ll work closely with our first-class engineering team to shape the foundations of our company.

Responsibilities

• Own architectural decisions and the technical build-out as we scale

• Build user-facing features on frontend, improve performance and reliability in our React-based web app, mobile app, desktop app

• Improve Motion’s backend systems: build complex backend application logic (e.g., scheduling, search), improve backend infrastructure for performance and reliability

What we’re looking for

• Senior software engineer: 5+ years of software development experience

• Staff software engineer: 10+ years of software development experience

• Proficiency with the JavaScript ecosystem

• Have worked on a code base at scale
