NetEase’s new title Justice Mobile topped on Chinese app stores

Chinese video game giant NetEast’s new title Justice Mobile topped charts on Chinese app stores within a day since its public testing version opened preload on Monday. Justice Mobile surpassed both the Chinese version of TikTok Douyin and Weixin to claim the number one spot on the top free chart in the iOS store in China.

Justice Mobile, set in a Wuxia background, holds significant importance for NetEase. Earlier this year, the company obtained approval from the National Press and Publication Administration (NPPA), the country's content regulator, to launch a mobile version of the game.

As an open-world role-playing game, Justice Mobile boasts AI-powered features that enhance gameplay. NetEase has highlighted how dialogues between non-playable characters (NPCs) and users can impact the game's storyline, thanks to GPT-like technology. NPCs will engage in conversations with each other, spreading awareness of players' actions within the game.

ITHome, a Chinese media outlet, reported that Justice Mobile received over 45 million pre-registrations. The highly anticipated title is scheduled for an official launch on Friday.

NetEase ranking as the third largest video game company in China by revenue, stands behind industry giants Tencent and miHoYo (known as HoYoverse in global markets), the developer of Genshin Impact. The ranks shuffled as the miHoYo’s revenue was revealed recently for 2022, as reported by Chinese media outlet Guangming Daily.
