Your Career

Unit 42 is looking for Consultants to work with a single, long-term client across a wide range of unique security and regulatory needs. Unit 42 has nine distinct teams working on this engagement, and understands nobody will have all of the skills listed below - but the ability to be versatile and work across multiple teams is highly desirable.  Unit 42 is looking for someone who can help us help our clients better manage their data risk, exposure, and compliance obligations.

We expect office-based employees to be in the office four days per week, with one day working from where they choose. We believe being together facilitates casual conversations and those magic moments where we can work on issues and ideas informally. These moments build capability and deepen trusted relationships and allow our people to feel safe in taking risks and being disruptive. Like so many companies, we are working through the details and things could change …. but in general if a role is deemed office-based we want our teams to be together four days per week.

Your Impact

  • The Consulting Director will manage the priorities of client-focused activities through leveraging their experience within cybersecurity
  • Deliver technical, administrative, and operational management of assigned projects for client engagements
  • Create clear and attainable project objectives, build project requirements, and manage internal and client expectations within deadlines, scope, and quality
  • Communicate complex technical matters in a way both technical and non-technical personnel can understand
  • Track program activities and progress from individual task level to strategic forecasts. Identify problems in advance and drive mitigation
  • Present and summarize complex, technical findings for legal, management, and other non-technical audiences

Qualifications

Your Experience

  • Ideal candidate will have 10+ years of following
  • Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent military experience, preferably in a technical or security-related field
  • Self-starter who thrives in ambiguity. Bias towards action and attention to detail required. 
  • Program management experience in information security or a related technology field
  • People management experience 
  • Experience with ensuring appropriate project communication occurs on an on-going basis with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
  • Experience in a cross-functional environment and matrixed organization structures
  • Ability to keep track of rapidly developing situations and navigate to a successful outcome with little or no direction 
  • Other valuable experience includes requirements analysis, resource allocation, P&L oversight, deliverable tracking, scheduling, and related activities
  • Basic understanding of networking, mobile development, and web development technologies
  • Familiarity with established project/operations management methodologies and technologies (ex: Six Sigma, PMP, Jira, Agile, etc)
  • Experience using SQL in a professional setting. Python experience is a plus.
  • Software development or scripting experience is a plus
  • Identified ability to grow into a valuable contributor to the practice and, specifically
    • have an external presence via public speaking, conferences, and/or publications
    • have credibility, executive presence, and gravitas
    • be able to have a meaningful and rapid delivery contribution
    • have the potential and capacity to understand all aspects of the business and an excellent understanding of PANW products
    • be collaborative and able to build relationships internally, externally, and across all PANW functions, including the sales team

The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/com-missioned roles) is expected to be between $183,500/yr to $252,350/yr.
