Support is great. Feedback is even better.
"We would really like you to try it out if you serve the African market. Only once you see the difference between this and other survey tools, will you understand the value. Feedback on product dev, pricing is most welcome."
Two years ago we set out to develop an e-commerce platform for African countries that were not actively transacting digitally. We looked for stats and data on e-commerce usage to validate our theory before starting development, and didn't find any.
Our hypothesis was that people would be willing to try e-commerce if it was easily accessible. We were going to try e-commerce over WhatsApp.
We developed a form as a Whatsapp chatbot to engage our target audience. We got 300 responses in a week, 10x more than what we would have gotten with Google Forms. Why? Because people mostly subscribe to social data bundles.
We recieved data in a couple of days that nobody else in the market had. We realised this was a tool that other businesses could use, and should use.
Fast forward 2 years later, we have launched it as a stand alone product!
African startups will understand, as should those in India and parts of LatAm where WhatsApp is the only used app.
