I'm Eric Landau, Cofounder and CEO of Encord. On behalf of the entire team, I am thrilled to launch Encord Active today on Product Hunt!

When we started Encord a few years ago, our core focus was on solving the biggest bottleneck in AI at the time: the lack of labeled data used for training models. Since starting we have been humbled to work with some of the most exciting and cutting-edge AI companies and groups in the world across a wide set of interesting use cases ranging from generative AI to medical diagnostics.

We have learned an enormous amount from working with these companies and worked with them to solve some of the main challenges they face around data quality, understanding, and management, particularly in the unwieldy world of visual data. We have now released these learnings and tools in the open as Encord Active.

Encord Active is an open source solution to help anyone building AI models solve some of the core challenges with improving, understanding, and managing their visual data. We have incorporated the latest models and advances in AI into a suite of tools that include: 👉 Powerful visual search engine powered by CLIP and ChatGPT 👉 Data debuggers to find and fix issues with data and label quality 👉 Automated detection of model failure modes to focus on where a model needs improvement

Congrats on the official launch, been following Encord Active for a while, and the current natural language search feature is really helpful! How soon do you expect the new Search Anything feature will be out of waitlist and ready to use? And when it is live, should I connect my own OpenAI API key or do you provide a hosted version I can use?
@human_dilemmas Thank you for the congrats! We are rolling it out to a few beta users now. Happy to have a chat with you on this. We have a hosted version that uses our API key, can explain more in the chat!

Signed up for the waitlist. I presume this is not a consumer or prosumer tool. Would love to have something that can take my iOS Photos or Google Photos and make them smarter and more useful.
@sree thanks for the feedback! We're working with application-specific companies adopting the search engine underpinning Encord Active into various photo catalogue products, but are also working on creating a version that you can embed with your own device.
