Hey Product Hunt πŸ‘‹,

My name is Arjay Ruggles, CEO and Founder of HomeRoom. Our team is super excited to showcase HomeRoom today!

This has been over a year in the making; after conducting over 250+ user interviews, iterating on multiple versions, and completely re-building our software from scratch while in the Techstars Music 23 accelerator, HomeRoom version 1.0 has finally arrived!

HomeRoom is the 1st Discord Community OS, enabling creators, businesses, and large-scale organizations to unlock the true potential of the platform.

πŸ”¨ Need a server? Skip the guesswork and use our one-click templates to generate a server; with channels, roles, and permissions pre-configured for you!

πŸ“Š Discord's native insights are notoriously unreliable and have up to a 2-week delay. Stay informed and make data-driven decisions with analytics that refresh up to once per hour.

πŸ‘₯ As your server grows, it becomes difficult to identify your most dedicated members. Quickly surface and identify your top contributors in both text AND voice chats!

πŸ€– With over 12,000 bots to choose from, finding the right one for your server can be a challenge. Browse our curated bot library and access step-by-step guides so you can focus on what matters most.

🌐 HomeRoom is a global platform, meaning our software support servers with *any* language. Over time we plan to introduce in-app localizations so you can browse the dashboard in your local language as well!

This is just the beginning; we have several new and exciting features on our roadmap, including CRM & e-commerce integrations, AI-powered moderation, and a whole lot more.

Join our Discord Community if you're an active community manager or eager to learn more. Thank you so much for checking us out, and be sure to leave a comment with your feedback!

@lifewitharjay Congrats to you and your team on the launch! Amazing to see this come to fruition. Incredible opportunity for anyone looking to level up their Discord community.
Congrats on the launch @lifewitharjay and team Homeroom! As someone that has leaned on communities to help me along in my own founder/maker journey, I can't tell you how pumped I am to see this product get in many more people's hands. How do you approach curating your library of useful bots? Seems like a super valuable resource!

@chrisschilling We are constantly talking to power users about the bots and tools they enjoy most, what features are giving them problems, and which bots to avoid. We also have a process to verify how bots use data and if it's sold to 3rd parties.

The biggest piece however is focusing on only 1 or 2 bots per use case. Often there may be DOZENS of bots that can accomplish a specific task, so we run a battery of tests to figure out which tools have the best combination of robust features, a harmonious UX, and well-written documentation.

Hey Product Hunt,

I'm David Harper, Head of Engineering at HomeRoom, and I'm excited to be able to share our progress on HomeRoom with you all today.

At HomeRoom, we see a future where Web Communities are recognized as the foundation for companies and their customers online. They're flexible, socially-aware structures that let people organize information, filter for signal in the noise, and realize positive-sum value. Everyone connected can benefit and companies have a path to build on- and off-book value.

The first step in realizing general Web Communities is breaking data out of silos across different systems without compromising on security or legibility. I specialize in distributed systems and interface design, so I've spent a lot of time thinking about stuff like this. Web Communities are strongly distributed, but too many companies try to squeeze you into a walled garden. The only way to reach that distributed future is to lean into that reality, and I've been laying the foundation for HomeRoom to do just that.

Right now, HomeRoom's software is focused on Discord. We've created an innovative integration with Discord's API, so you don't have to. Just add our bot to your server, and events start flowing into our analytics pipeline right away.

Our roadmap includes more flexible analytics reports, incorporating data from platforms beyond Discord, enabling generative software integrations, and AI-augmented moderation. I'm particularly excited about the generative software and moderation possibilities. We've roadmapped paths where:

🧩 HomeRoom can make it much easier to integrate no-code tools with Discord.

✨ HomeRoom can use the context it gathers as your Web Community OS to enrich moderation decisions. We want HomeRoom to go beyond Big Tech's ineffective "bad word lists", but we don't need to compromise a community member's privacy or offline identity to judge their persona's actions.

As you can see, we've got big ideas for innovation. But we want to do this right, so we're taking it one step at a time.

Thank you so much for checking us out. Be sure to leave a comment with your feedback, and checkout our Discord Community to learn more.

Such an exciting milestone, providing a crucial missing piece for building strong, vibrant communities!
