6月16日，董宇辉回母校西安外国语大学，他谈到，自己刚火一个月时曾有人开出一年税后两个亿的薪酬，如果不满意还可以再往上调。但董宇辉没有去，他称因为知道拿的东西多一定会遭到反噬，不该挣的钱别挣，不该拿的东西别拿。
此前，董宇辉还因自曝拒绝1000万广告费受到了关注。
主播董宇辉近日在直播中回应了自己收入减少的传闻，称并没有减少，并且如果真的想挣钱也不难。 他透露，自己前不久收到了一条 1000 万元的广告私信，但并未接受。
董宇辉认为钱虽重要，但不能把它看作最重要的事。
此前，5月22日，俞敏洪和董宇辉爬北岳恒山，俞敏洪在恒山的千刃绝壁上给董宇辉做职业规划，董宇辉称俞敏洪是自己的“王多鱼”，主要负责帮自己实现各种梦想。
