Logitech is consolidating some of its sub-brands under the Logitech G umbrella
TechSpot is celebrating its 25th anniversary. TechSpot means tech analysis and advice you can trust.

In brief: Logitech over the years has added several brands to its family of peripherals and accessories. Now, a few of them are coming together under the broader Logitech G brand of gaming products.

Logitech purchased leading headset maker Astro Gaming for $85 million in cash back in 2017 in an effort to better cater to console gamers. Astro has been around since 2006 and was scooped up by Skullcandy in 2011 where it remained until Logitech came knocking.

A little over a year later, Logitech added Blue Microphones to its stable for approximately $117 million in cash. Blue Microphones was founded in 1995 by Skipper Wise and Martins Saulespurens, and specialized in microphones, headphones, and accessories for musicians, gamers, YouTubers, podcasters, and streamers.

In a recent video shared on Twitter, Logitech G General Manager Ujesh Desai said Astro Gaming, Blue, and Logitech for Creators are all coming together under the Logitech G banner. So what exactly does that mean?

Desai said all of the products from those lines will persist albeit with a deeper integration. In short, products across these sub brands will be configurable in one place (presumably, Logitech's G Hub software).

In a follow-up Q&A on Reddit, Logitech said the Astro brand will live on. They are also keeping the Yeti brand of Blue Microphones but the Blue name will now be used to describe their technologies (like Blue voice filters on select Logitech G headsets). The Logitech for Creators brand will be dissolved into Logitech G.

Support for branded products will still be available via Logitech's dedicated support portal. The merger also won't have an impact on existing warranties, and users will still be able to get replacement parts for existing gear. Affiliate and sponsorship programs will be rolled into Logitech G so if that applies to you, it would be best to reach out to your rep for further information.

Individual social media channels are also being merged, and that'll happen on July 7.
