Hey Product Hunt! 👋 I’m Josh, cofounder of CloudSafari.

We’re making safari booking to Sub-Saharan Africa as easy as booking an all-inclusive vacation (starting with Tanzania).

🕺🏼 Who we are We are third generation safari tour operators. Our family has been running tours in sub-Saharan Africa for over 50 years, handling tours and logistics for ex-President Jimmy Carter, National Geographic, Harvard, and Melinda Gates. On top of this, we’re a team of engineering grads from the University of Waterloo, helping to make our safari booking dream a reality.

💡 Problem & solution Booking a safari is a very manual and tedious process that requires a lot of back-and-forth between you as a traveller and a tour-operator/travel agent (imagine spending 1-6 months talking with a travel agent to book an all-inclusive to Mexico). We’ve spent the past couple of months, building, and partnering with key suppliers to get direct access to availability so that we can give you a feasible trip in seconds rather than weeks/months

🐘 What we offer Whether you're seeking a thrilling safari in the Serengeti, looking to summit Mt. Kilimanjaro, or looking for a honeymoon of a lifetime, CloudSafari has got you covered. Our platform has packages that fit every travellers needs - curated by expert safari planners - that’s connected to pricing and availability in real-time.

🌍 Our bet on Africa We are big on Africa. Two of our co-founders (Al and Os) were born and raised in Tanzania and our whole team has spent an extensive amount of time on-ground living in Tanzania & Kenya, learning more about the culture, and exploring as much as we could. At the end of the day, we’re building CloudSafari to give back to the locals on the ground and the specialized guides who make your trip (stay tuned for a future launch with our verified local guides!).

Find a package that suits you and “Create a booking request” here, https://mycloudsafari.com, or send us an email at [email protected] for a custom package.

We're so excited to hear your feedback + to host you in Africa! ✨

Hello Product Hunt Community! I’m Markus Hamann and am lucky to be part of the amazing team that is building CloudSafari - a platform to give people the best possible experience when booking an African safari (yes - AFRICAN SAFARIS 🦒🦁).

Before I go on explaining CloudSafari, I’ll answer the popular FAQ I get from most people, “How does someone from Canada get involved in African Safaris?”. It’s a good question, and to answer it we have to take a trip down to memory lane in 2019 where my roommate and I were looking for a problem to solve for our fourth-year engineering design project.

Conveniently, my roommate (Josh), had family in Tanzania operating safaris for over 50 years and had heard throughout his childhood about all of the problems that exist in that space. So, for our design project, we decided to look at creating day-to-day itinerary software to aid in the trip planning process. Unfortunately, COVID-19 decided to swoop and put a grinding halt on the safari business - leaving our product by the wayside.

It wasn't until two years later when the world re-opened that we decided to check back in on the safari world’s problems and that is when we had our ah-ha 💡 moment.

Josh’s cousin’s (Al and Os - who have been running their family’s safari business), invited us to fly down to Africa and live with them for several months to truly understand the problems they are seeing and how we can solve them. It was there that we better understood the large pain points around the safari booking process.

Before CloudSafari, there was no platform that allowed you to see live availability and complete pricing safaris without having to request a quote! With the modernization of accommodation APIs in Africa, we found the timing was just right to build a platform that accomplishes these key features and bring safari booking into the modern age.

We are delighted to share our journey and product with you and look forward to seeing you on a safari one day! Feel free to share any feedback or questions - we’d love to chat! 😄

Cool! On my bucketlist. Congrats on your launch Joshua & Team! Do you offer an affiliate program?
@formentera Thanks Jamie! Definitely a bucketlist item, would love to host you when you're ready to travel :) We do also have an affiliate program as well, feel free to send me a message if you're interested or know anyone who is - [email protected] - Cheers!

Prices seem affordable. European interest is definitely super-high and there is a huge market (everyone wants to do Safaris in their lives and almost no-one has done it yet). Prices seems affordable (from a Spanish-prices POV). And I didn't know any single platform to look for all-in-one Safari packages. Platform works great (could speed up 'price and availability' load) and the design seems right for the target audience.

The 'Brief Itinerary' section that appears when you get in a package should have a design review. Everything else is perfect. Congrats for the solution, the product and the need discovery!

@alvarovillalb_ Thanks a lot for the feedback Alvaro, really appreciate it! We're working on the speed of the price and availability right now but have to do a deep search across all accommodation systems which slows things down a bit - but we're making improvements to it day-by-day. Curious to know if you've ever done a safari? We know a lot of travellers come from Europe to Zanzibar specifically.
