AvePoint appoints Max McNamara to lead Australia, NZ business Featured

Data management platform provider AvePoint has appointed Max McNamara as Vice President and Managing Director, Australia & New Zealand.

McNamara joined AvePoint in August 2022 as Director of Solutions Engineering after a decade at Microsoft-focused professional services consultancy, Antares Solutions, where he previously held the position of General Manager.

AvePoint says that in his new role, McNamara will focus on the development and execution of its ANZ strategy by working with internal teams, channel partners and customers to help them migrate, manage and protect data leveraging the AvePoint Confidence Platform.

AvePoint notes that it runs an advanced platform for SaaS and data management to optimise operations and secure collaboration - and offers the only full suite of SaaS solutions to migrate, manage and protect data in Microsoft 365.

According to AvePoint the need for ANZ organisations to optimise their SaaS operations and secure their collaboration is rising rapidly, and “according to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC), there were 497 notifiable data breaches reported in the second half of 2022, a 26 per cent increase compared to the previous six months”.

“It's become increasingly clear over the past 12 months that we’re entering a new era of SaaS management and data protection. Threats are rising, consumers are becoming more aware of data privacy, and brand reputations are on the line like never before. With increasing regulation also comes the high financial risk of not prioritising organisational data,” said McNamara.

“The importance of our work at AvePoint is not lost on me, and I’m humbled to be able to lead the ANZ operations at such a critical juncture in the region’s approach to data management. I’m looking forward to working closely with our customers and partners to help protect the data of everyday Australians and New Zealanders, whilst ensuring seamless collaboration for organisations.”

AvePoint says its strategic focus is the continued acceleration of its channel business in the region through system integrators, value-added resellers, managed service providers and distributors.

“In early 2022, AvePoint announced a new partner platform, alongside a new training system and services certification. Today, 400+ partners across ANZ utilise AvePoint’s multi-tenanted management platform ‘Elements’ to drive more success with their customers and ensure collaboration resilience.

“AvePoint customers in ANZ include the Reserve Bank of Australia, HostPlus, Santos, the University of Auckland, Vision Australia, Cancer Council NSW, and Cardinia Shire Council, among others,” AvePoint concludes.
