I am having a hell of a time trying to get nethunter to work. I keep getting the dm_verity crash dump screen when I'm trying to flash the kernel. I've had to MSM unbrick something like 20 times and have been struggling for weeks. I'm trying to use nethunter with a little alfa card for scanning on the wlan1 interface. But of course even after i successfully install twrp and magisk (that took days to figure out) when i flash the kernel (the A12 kernel on page one of this forum thread, i get the dm_verity message) I know nothing about flashing both slots. And clearly about anything in this process.

So stuck. time to call for help and help that this is still alive. Sorry I'm bad with version numbers or how to find them. But i unbrick with MSM 4.0, install the system updates until it says android version 12, then unlock and so on to install twrp, flash magisk, flash the nethunter image that is provided on get-kali offsec site. However i can get here but nothing on nethunter seems to work. Metapackages, wlan0 monitor, installing drivers for the external wifi card. Learning curve is steeeep. Sigh. Experienced users??

When you say "flash the nethunter image that is provided on get_kali offsec site," are you installing this through magisk or trying to flash it through recovery?
Never flashed it over stock OOS but are you doing step 5 in the first post?

Thanks Ygrek for your contribution. I managed to install your kernel through recovery and the modules from Magisk (26.1). Everything seems to work like a charm but I can't find the drivers files in the directory you mention. It says the directory "modules" does not exist in /system/lib/ directory.

Indeed, my external WiFi adapters won't work at all (I have plenty).

Do you have a piece of advice to solve this problem ? Can it be located somewhere else ?

My OnePlus 8T runs on crDroid 9.2 rom and latest Nethunter.

Have you tried the magisk module?

nethunter .zip file 2023.1 from the off sec official site is what i tried.
Can you be more specific which step? I'm not sure why I cant flash custom OS (crdroid ROM). I'm assuming OOS is stock oxygen 11 or 12? Trying to flash crdroid 12 through twrp but it bricks it. I'm not sure how to flash both slots.

EDIT: You mean the read/write script. I had tried that but i'm getting errors specifying the infile=<name>.img I'm not sure what image to use.

My kernel you can install through recovery. Archive with modules through magisk. Nethunter can be downloaded from the official website and install too via magisk.

The solution of the problem is because of which you cannot update packages, you can see 4pda

I don't see your errors)

What is 4pda?

To flash CrDroid 12, if memory serves me correct, you have to upgrade to OOS 11. To flash both slots you reboot to recovery, flash it, reboot to recovery again and flash again. The file you get from the official Kali website is for magisk while the kernel on the first post is flashed through recovery.

I have tried so many times sigh. I just use the system updates to get it to 12, then flash twrp, then magisk, then try the rom. Still get crashdump. This last time just flashing twrp bricked it. SO FRUSTRATING. Can't get things to fail the same way even! it's different each time. Is it appropriate to dm flypatriot and ask for help? I just don't even know what i don't know.

when I update apt update , the packages are not updated

What is your error exactly?

Have you tried the magisk module?
Hi, thanks a lot for your answer.
Yes, I just tried, it installed successfully and is enabled in Magisk modules list but then, it does not change anything with my Realtek 8812AU/8821AU chipset (but I tried others). The WiFi adapters can be seen in the output of lsusb but not within the output of airmon-ng for example.

I have on my Oneplus8T : Android 13 crDroid 9.2, kernel version 4.19.275-NetErnel-v1-by@Ygrek178_base@HELLBOY17 #1 Thu Mar 9 23:46:04 MSK 2023

Everything should be fine... Do you have a clue ?

There are actually some developers creating crDroid 12.1 based on Android 11 for OnePlus 8.

Corrected it, forgot to do so after I helped him get on CrDroid

Asked in Kali discord and it looks like that has to be built into kernel.
