DeSantis 'doesn't have very good judgement in picking his enemies': James Carville

South Carolina Senator Tim Scott appears to be making a 2024 bid for the White House. Scott filed a “Statement of Candidacy" form with the Federal Election Commission, listing himself as a Republican running for President. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is also expected to announce a 2024 presidential run in the coming weeks. They would be joining a GOP field that includes former President Donald Trump, former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley, and former Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson. James Carville, a longtime Democratic strategist told Yahoo Finance’s Seana Smith and Akiko Fujita in an interview that right now, the 2024 Republican presidential candidates are "literally destroying each other." Carville noted there are "enemies of necessity" and enemies that you choose. DeSantis, he said, is "terrible" at picking enemies. "It's a terrible enemy of choice to go after Disney," he said, referring to the governor's ongoing feud Disney (DIS) leadership. Carville added, "DeSantis doesn't have very good judgement in picking his enemies of choice. Trump is his enemy of necessity" and that right now, he is not "playing this game very well." Texas oil refinery 'dangerous' says lawyer for worker killed in fire

An attorney representing the family of a 55-year-old Marathon Petroleum refinery worker killed in a fire at the Texas facility this week called the plant where he worked "dangerous" on Friday. Scott Higgins died in a fire when a seal on a pump, near where he was performing maintenance at Marathon’s Galveston Bay Refinery in Texas City, ruptured and created a blaze that engulfed him in flames. “He was burned to death at the plant,” said attorney Tony Buzbee at a media briefing on Friday where he alleged safety conditions at the second-largest U.S. oil refining complex have not improved in a decade.

Mexico takes over part of Grupo Mexico railway, shares fall

The Mexican Navy on Friday took over a section of railway in southern Mexico operated by a unit of Grupo Mexico , and shares in the mining and infrastructure company fell by more than 4% after the expropriation. Calling the move "surprising", the transport unit Grupo Mexico Transportes said the Navy had occupied its facilities at the Coatzacoalcos-Medias Aguas section at 6 a.m.(1200 GMT), and that it was weighing up its options. Earlier, Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador's government issued a decree ordering a "temporary" takeover of around 120 kilometers (75 miles) of the firm's network in the area due to its importance to a major infrastructure project.
