5月17日消息，2021年，任天堂推出了融入“吃鸡”玩法的《吃豆人》游戏，《吃豆人99》，并作为Switch Online会员的免费独占游戏推出。
近日，任天堂官方宣布，
该作将在今年10月8日正式终止所有在线功能，并从eShop下架。
根据官方公告，在下架并关服后，游戏的所有在线模式都将无法游玩，但游戏付费DLC包含的三种离线模式，都将能够在下架后继续正常游玩。
同时，虽然游戏将在10月下架， 但此前已经购买DLC的玩家，将能够不受阻碍的下载游戏，无需担心付费内容丢失。
