Hello everybody!

🎉 Our team is here and we are happy to show you Govar

There are more than 1.3 billion people around the world are learning English as a second language. Most of them can’t actually speak English.

Why? 🤐 It’s impossible to start speaking with no speaking practice 😬 It’s very difficult to find interlocutors outside of the English-speaking world.

That’s why we created Govar – the app where every user can speak English with people from different countries every day.

How does Govar work? 📱 Open the app and choose the meeting 📈 Choose your English level 🗣 You’ll get into a video call with 3-4 users of the same level from different countries and talk as long as you want.

You can use a built-in translator to find right words in your conversation and we help to find topics if there is nothing to talk about.

Now we work 6 hours every day but soon we will work 24/7. Several months ago we started from 1 hour per day.

Premium account features: - Meetings with native speakers - Possibility to change rooms - Unlimited dictionary - No ads.

In future we are planning to add practice in other languages. What language do you think should be added next?

That's a good idea! Do you have topics and teachers/mentors? I want to practice public speaking in English!
@new_user_127483b6b4 Thanks! No, we don't have teachers on a regular basis, but you can meet natives and practice with them!

@new_user_127483b6b4 I practiced English for public speaking. Sometimes I have to pitch Govar on different competitions in English. Practice in Govar 2-3 times a week helped me a lot. Now I can pitch even with no preparations.

And also sometimes we make meetings with native speakers and we are planning to invite teachers with narrow topics in future.

I must say, Govar seems like a fantastic idea! It's impressive how you're providing a platform for people to practice English with peers from around the globe 🔥

How do you ensure the quality of the native speakers in the meetings? Do they undergo some sort of screening process?

Congrats on the launch 🎉😎

@vera_mur Thanks for supporting us! To ensure the quality of the native speakers, we're interviewing them manually to make sure that they fit the best.

@vera_mur the main idea of meetings with native speakers is to give our users possibility to hear native speakers' accent and to realise that native speaker understand users' speech.

Also it's a cultural exchange where users can find new information about living in Australia, The USA, England, New Zealand etc.

Hi makers 👋 Congrats on the launch of your startup on PH! It looks super! I'll try it 👨‍💻 How many users do you have so far?
