Three Amex Hilton credit cards have launched vastly improved welcome bonus offers — and they're worth considering if you stay with Hilton hotels often. The Hilton Honors American Express Card, Hilton Honors American Express Surpass® Card , and The Hilton Honors American Express Business Card are offering a higher number of points than usual, plus a Hilton free night award certificate valid at just about any Hilton hotel (worth as much as 150,000 points). Amex is an Insider partner.
These are among the highest offers we've ever seen for these Hilton credit cards:
- Hilton Honors American Express Card: Earn 70,000 Hilton Honors bonus points and a Free Night Reward after you spend $1,000 in purchases in the first three months of card membership ($0 annual fee)
- Hilton Honors American Express Surpass® Card: Earn 130,000 Hilton Honors bonus points and one Free Night Reward after you spend $2,000 in purchases in your first three months of card membership (annual fee of $95)
- The Hilton Honors American Express Business Card: Earn 150,000 Hilton Honors bonus points plus a Free Night Reward after you spend $4,000 in purchases within the first three months of card membership (offer ends 7/19/23) ($95 annual fee)
These increased bonuses expire on July 19, 2023, so they won't be around forever.

We're focused here on the rewards and perks that come with each card. These cards won't be worth it if you're paying interest or late fees. When using a credit card, it's important to pay your balance in full each month, make payments on time, and only spend what you can afford to pay.
Hilton credit card offers
Although we've seen Hilton Honors card bonuses of up to 180,000 bonus points after meeting tiered minimum spending requirements, the addition of a free night award makes these offers very valuable. We estimate that you'll receive more than $1,000 in travel, on average, depending on which card you open.
Hilton Honors credit card: Earn 70,000 Hilton points plus a free night award
The Hilton Honors American Express Card now offers 70,000 Hilton Honors bonus points and a Free Night Reward after you spend $1,000 in purchases in the first three months of card membership.
The points alone are worth $350 in travel, according to Insider's points and miles valuations. That's a nice deal for a card with a $0 annual fee, and why this card is on our list of the best no annual fee travel credit cards.
This card earns:
- 7 Hilton points per dollar on eligible Hilton purchases
- 5 points per eligible dollar spent at U.S. restaurants, U.S. supermarkets, and U.S. gas stations
- 3 points per dollar spent on everything else
These return rates make it a good option for those looking to earn Hilton points on everyday expenses without paying an annual fee.
After you achieve the bonus, you'll have at least 73,000 points plus a free night certificate to use at almost any Hilton hotel (exclusions here), including the world-famous Grand Wailea, A Waldorf Astoria Resort which normally charges 110,000 points per night. This hotel regularly costs over $1,000 per night.

Hilton Surpass card: Earn 130,000 Hilton points plus a free night award
The Hilton Honors American Express Surpass® Card now comes with a welcome bonus offer of 130,000 Hilton Honors bonus points and one Free Night Reward after you spend $2,000 in purchases in your first three months of card membership.
Those bonus points worth $650 in travel, based on Insider's valuation of Hilton points as worth 0.5 cents each. Plus, the free night award can potentially get you another $1,000+ in value, depending on where you redeem it.
The card has better earning rates, as well:
- 12 points per dollar spent on eligible purchases at Hilton hotels
- 6 points per dollar spent at U.S. restaurants, U.S. supermarkets, and U.S. gas stations
- 3 points per dollar on all other eligible purchases
You'll have a minimum of 136,000 points after you achieve the card's welcome bonus, plus the free night certificate. The most expensive Hilton hotels in the world top out at 150,000 points — such as the Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi, which is nearly impossible to find for less than $2,100 per night. Or by combining points and your free night award, you could have a weekend at the Waldorf Astoria Park City, which costs 110,000 points per night during ski season — but can sell for $1,700 per night.
You can find out all the details in our Hilton Honors American Express Surpass card review.
Hilton Business credit card: Earn 150,000 Hilton points plus a free night award
Small-business owners who prefer Hilton hotels can get great value from the new offer on The Hilton Honors American Express Business Card. You can earn 150,000 Hilton Honors bonus points plus a Free Night Reward after you spend $4,000 in purchases within the first three months of card membership (offer ends 7/19/23). Again, those points are worth around $750 in stays, which goes a long way toward offsetting the card's $95 annual fee. And that's not even counting the value you'll get from the free award night.
The bonus categories on this card are ideal for small-business owners, too:
- 12 points per dollar on eligible purchases at Hilton hotels
- 6 points per dollar on select business purchases: U.S. gas stations, wireless telephone services purchases directly from U.S. service providers, and U.S purchases for shipping
- 6 points per dollar on select travel purchases: U.S. restaurants, flights booked directly with airlines or Amex Travel, and car rentals booked with select car rental companies
- 3 points per dollar on all other eligible purchases
After meeting minimum spending requirements, you'll have at least 162,000 points (plus a free night). That's more than enough for a couple of nights at a five-star hotel like the Waldorf Astoria Palm Jumeirah in Dubai.
You don't need a thriving enterprise to qualify for a small business card. Even if you operate as a sole proprietor driving for Lyft, freelance writing, or running an eBay store as a side gig, you are a legit small business. Read our Amex Hilton Honors Business card review to see if this is the best choice for you.
Which Hilton credit card is best for you?
The best Hilton card for you depends on your spending habits and how often you stay with Hilton. Each card offers different earning rates and benefits — but they all come with Hilton elite status, which unlocks a fifth night free on standard award stays of five nights or more and other perks.
The Hilton Honors American Express Surpass® Card and The Hilton Honors American Express Business Card both come with the ability to earn free night awards after meeting spending thresholds. You can use these awards for a free standard room at almost any Hilton hotel or resort — meaning it could be worth thousands, depending on where you redeem it.
