Atlassian infuses product range with new AI smarts for more efficient teamwork Featured

Software and project lifecycle solutions provider Atlassian has announced new AI capabilities coming to the product suite that will enable teams everywhere to overcome teamwork challenges and open new ways to collaborate on meaningful work.
The announcements were made at Atlassian's annual customer event Team ‘23, and the business says they will help teams can reach their potential and accomplish the impossible in 2023.
Atlassian says, "In 2023, we find ourselves in a wildly different economic climate compared to a year ago. Teams everywhere are being asked to do more with less. To be more productive in shorter timeframes. To dream bigger than they ever have before, despite constraints. It’s a big task, set against tough times."
With that background and the event themed "Impossible Alone", Atlassian has unveiled a host of new capabilities and features to help teams work better, smarter, and faster.
The key announcements are:
- New AI capabilities purpose-built for teamwork: Introducing Atlassian Intelligence, a platform that provides teams with a new virtual teammate that leverages AI through internal models and Atlassian’s collaboration with OpenAI. Atlassian Intelligence is built into the Atlassian platform and offers features including:
- An always-on, virtual teammate in Jira Service Management that automates support workflows to save teams time and money.
- Ability to generate new content using natural language prompts, such as a press release based on product specifications in Confluence.
- Support for natural language questions, which helps teammates access the company’s institutional knowledge and policies in Confluence, generate insights using data from multiple sources in Atlassian Analytics, and unlock the power of Jira Query Language (JQL) to find issues across all Jira Cloud products.
- Confluence gets better and better: Confluence is getting all kinds of head-turning updates, including generative AI-enabled features, the ability to bring the Confluence collaboration experience to any web page, and a native whiteboarding capability.
- Updated platform features: Atlassian is showcasing all the ways their platform powers the connected enterprise and enables teams to work where they want to, including new investments in AI, their connected data model, and enterprise-grade enhancements.
- New ways of working that are sure to wow: With Atlassian’s refreshed Practices offering, they’re codifying and shipping their learnings about teamwork and effective ways of working to peers, customers, and business leaders through Modern Work Coaches, the Atlassian Team Playbook, product templates, practices-focused Atlassian University courses, and more.
