快科技4月19日讯，除了在役的卫星、天文设备等，地球大气层之外，其实布满了密密麻麻的空间垃圾。
日前，NASA预告，一枚早在2018年退役的卫星RHESSI（设计为进行太阳耀斑和日冕等活动光谱成像）预计会在北京时间4月20日早上9点左右坠落地球，误差大约16个小时。
据悉，卫星的总质量大约300公斤，预计多部分会在大气层中燃烧殆尽，只有少量残骸可能“着陆”。
美方称，考虑到地球主要被水和无人居住的土地覆盖，通常不用去担忧这些残骸。
