7 YouTube Channels to Watch to Become a Better UX Designer

Youtube is an excellent resource when it comes to learning. We all have at some point looked up a video on how to do something.

But Youtube can be used for learning hard-to-learn subjects like UX design, which we will be focusing on today.

Here are 5 Youtube channels you should check out to learn UX Design.

  1. AJ&Smart: This was one of the first channels I really got into when starting out in UX. The channel is great for covering the UX process and resources but their bread and butter has to be videos on design sprints.

2. NNgroup: Founded by 2 of the grandpas of UX Jakob Nielsen and Don Norman in 1998. The NNgroup offers a ton of material on UX design. If you like a more formal approach to the content you learn then NNgroup is for you. Check out their website for a ton of well-researched content on everything fundamental about design.

3. DesignCourse: Old Gary of DesignCourse is a whiz at breaking down concepts in the UX/UI field in a straightforward but engaging way. Gary also has a good collection of tutorials to get you working instead of mindlessly watching videos.

4. Mizko: Don’t tell him this, but I wish I had a haircut like Mizko. I also wish I could make entertaining videos on UX that focus on trends, tutorials, and current topics in the industry.

5. Mimi Michi: There is something about Mimi’s videos that I find appealing, her candidness about what it is like being a UX designer in the real world is very relatable. I highly recommend checking out her vlogs on the day in the life of a UX designer.

6. Malewicz: Most of the other Youtubers I suggested focus on teaching UX through tutorials. Malewicz does have tutorials but I enjoy his channel for his breakdown of current events in the UX industry and how they affect us.

7. Aliena Cai: This channel in my opinion is very specific. Aliena takes you on her personal journey of becoming a UX designer with Google’s UX Designer Certificate. So if you ever wondered about the value of that certification then check out this channel.

Was this helpful? What Youtube channels do you watch to learn UX design? I love to hear about them.
