2012 年 1 月 27 日，对任何喜爱和了解 Palm 的人来说，都是一个值得留意的日子。这一天，惠普 webOS 部门负责人乔恩·鲁宾斯坦（Jon Rubinstein）正式离职，这也代表着他一手打造的 webOS 和决心重振的 Palm 也将很快退出历史舞台。从 2007 年正式加入 Palm，到 2009 接任 CEO，再到如今的无声谢幕，鲁宾斯坦陪伴 Palm 走过了五年的暗淡光景，却始终没能等来他所期望的触底反弹。
从 1993 年到 2012 年，Palm 开创了自己的历史，并且最终成为这段历史的一部分，这的确令人唏嘘；不过，这个世界从来不缺少「不合时宜」的创新，Palm 所代表的探索精神永存。
