英伟达宣布《赛博朋克2077》开发商CDPR将发布升级补丁，使游戏首度实现路径光追（Path Tracing），即所谓“全光线追踪”：
该技术不仅能准确模拟真实环境下的光影效果，还能彻底改变游戏制作流程——之前需要美工手工烘焙，3A游戏开发成本越来越高，开发周期越来越长，均与此有关。
尽管《赛博朋克2077》是光追游戏先行者，但目前仍未导入实时路径光追——游戏与电影不同，后者可离线渲染，而游戏必须实时生成，这在4系显卡及DLSS3诞生之前是不可想象的。
CDPR确认《赛博朋克2077》资料片“Phantom Liberty（往日之影）”将应用路径光追，但《狩魔猎人3》与这项技术无缘。4月11号发布的1.62版《赛博朋克2077》将以技术预览版的身份与玩家见面，使 4090用户 光追爱好者得以抢先体验这项颠覆性技术。
